Lori (Chia-Hsin) Chan, Ph.D.
Dr. Lori Chan earned her BS degree in botany and Ph. D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, at National Taiwan University, Taiwan. Dr. Chan then undertook postdoctoral studies in Molecular and Cellular Oncology at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, USA. Dr. Chan is an experienced biomedical researcher with specialties in breast cancer and stem cell biology. She had made several original and advanced findings in these fields, publishing as a first or senior author in several high profile journals including Cell, Nature Cell Biology, Molecular Cell, etc, as well as many additional co-authored high-impact studies in Nature, Science, Nature Cell Biology, Molecular Cell, and Nature Communications. Dr. Chan is a recipient of a number of accolades, which includes the Odyssey Outstanding Research Publication Award, a 1st Prize AMGEN Award in Basic Science Research, a Breast Cancer SPORE Career Development Award, The Harold C. and Mary L. Daily Endowment Fellowship Award, Susan G Komen Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship Award, Feldstein Medical Foundation Award, a TRO Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Award, a Susan G Komen Career Catalyst Research Award, a Long Island League for Abolishing Cancer (LILAC) Small Equipment Award, an Excellence in Early Career Research Award at Stony Brook Medicine and an ASPET Early Career Development Award in Molecular Pharmacology.
